Before you choose to listen item on Facebook marketplace here are a few things you should take into consideration, when you list something on Facebook marketplace anyone on Facebook will be able to see and access your personal Facebook profile. even if you don’t allow messages from anyone who isn’t friends with you on Facebook anyone on Facebook will be able to message you about the item that you are selling. Technically when someone sends you a message it really isn’t a message but more of a group discussion. You can access this group discussion or message either through messenger or through Facebook. If you open the message the person who sent the message will be able to see that you read the message.
After a transaction has been completed both parties will be able to leave feedback.
Log into Facebook if you’re not logged into Facebook.
When you are signed into Facebook click on the storefront icon
If you haven’t been to Facebook marketplace it may show you random items that you may or may not necessarily be interested in, if you happen to Facebook marketplace then the results may be showing you stuff that you may be more interested in.
You should see a button that says “ + create new listing”, click on that.
Now you have three options to choose from which are the following: item for sale, vehicle for sale, and home for sale or rent, for this tutorial we will be doing an item for sale, so click on item for sale.
How do you clicked on “item for sale“ the next page will show you what your listing is going to look like, make sure that you carefully fill out the form and read deform carefully.
There are three parts before your listing will be live.
Page 1 will contain
Photos: be sure to upload lots of photos
Tile: choose a title that best describes the item that you are selling. for example we will be selling a craftsman 3600 generator, so our tile will be “Craftsman 3600 generator – $400 or BO”
Price: You’ll need to set a price, for our example we will be selling it for 400
Category: You will need to chose a category of what your item best fits in. It seems you can pick more than one.
Condition:
Age range: (Not required)
Features(Not required)
Description: (Not required)
SKU: (Not required)
Boost listing after published (paid, Not required)
Hide from friends:
Page 2 is the Delivery method
Location: Your addreass will not be published, only a general geographical location will be publicly available. If you live in a rural area than it maybe more likely for someone to see your location.
Shipping: Not if you do not have a shipping setup, by default it will be set to pick-up. See this page for how shipping works https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/selling/shipping_how_it_works. Note: To ship you MUST confirm you name matches the documents you will need to submit.
The information you need to provide is your date of birth, your address, bank information, and your tax information (SNN or ITIN)
