Surprisingly today, I still have all of the VHS tapes that I had when VHS tapes were still available at Local stores like Walmart, Kmart, target and the Video store where you could rent a move to be watched on a VCR.
This type of technology, what’s an entirely obsolete but it was was dying of a slow death thanks to alternatives like Netflix where you could rent a movie to watch and when you’re done, you mail it back, Netflix since discontinued this and now is a streaming platform exclusively, Redbox a now defunct DVD rental company that was known for is kiosk outside of grocery stores, Drugstores like Rite Aid, Walgreens where you can go to any Kiosk and search for the move you want and pay by Credit card and you even could earn a free movie as well. Redbox also had online streaming as well, but I don’t think they were really known for that.
I believe when COVID-19 really plugged the United States more in 2020, online streaming such as Netflix Willy took off along with other companies creating their own streaming platform along with Hulu. They also took off as well, leaving the brick and mortar store blockbuster in the past and st
