Google is sending out notices about inactive policy. What does this mean for you?

/ March 20, 2026

Today I sign into a Gmail account that I don’t use all that often and I see an email titled “Updating our Google Account inactivity policy” and the email reads which I will only pull out the most important information from but of course if you would like to read the actual email that is also available as well.

So why is Google creating this policy? In the very first paragraph they say they work very hard to keep your information safe from unauthorized access, they also want to limit how long they keep such data so after two years your account is up for delation.

How do I keep my account from becoming “inactive“? there are a few things you can do, which one of them is simply logging into your account and reading an email you can also send an email if you wish, watch a YouTube video, have an active subscription. (Source: https://go.wqyu.com/gip)
