It seems today more and more software, program and even web-based applications originally used to offer a lifetime subscription where you would pay one fee usually a high fee and you would receive the software, program or web based application no additional cost that would include usually updates, but that seems to all going away, why is that?
While I cannot speak for every single company that decides to do away with the lifetime subscription and move to eight months and months or a yearly subscription base I can only speculate on a few reasons, one has to do with a lifetime subscription with update they won’t be able to charge extra for updates, not be able to chage more later down the road however a month to month or a yearly subscription if offered they can change the subscription price to much higher price and they can also suspend the current package where if you have a lapse in payment they can say you will be chage the regular subscription fee or lose the package your on.
