Many websites have a privacy policy in which this document or page I should say outlines how they automatically collect information from you, what information is necessary in order to fulfill your request such as like responding back to you, and what information is mandatory. It also lists if they give your information that they collect from you to third parties or to their affiliate and also if they use Advertisers and who are the advertisers. California has specific privacy laws that give all California residence certain privacy rights that the other states don’t offer so I wanted to know even though I don’t live in the good old state of California would i’ll be able to exercise my California rights?
The first company I decided to try this out on is Hulu.
After I decided to cancel my Hulu subscription as I did not think it was worth paying $6.99 per month and in my opinion being bombarded by with an excessive amount of advertisements (ads), I decided to take a little looksee around and I noticed under “privacy and settings” near the bottom of the page on the right side there is a link that says “California Privacy Rights”. after clicking on that link, I then see a webpage as seen in the screenshot below.

I decided to click on “request report”, to see if I would be able to request a report even though I personally do not live in California, but I still was able to proceed and see the report.
So what is included in this report?
The report will be pretty lengthy depending on how much streaming you do on Hulu, the report will contain your personal and identifiable information, payment method, subscription status, subscription history a list of all of the TV shows and programs you have watched and The name of advertisers that has shown ads.
The next company I decided to perform this on is Facebook:
After I was able to successfully get this report from Hulu now I’m curious to see about Facebook. to exercise your California rights even though you’re not in California for Facebook, visit https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/784491318687824, then you need to answer the question ” which product are you submitting the request for?“ > Facebook > your dad need to be specific by choosing a option from the menu > you’ll be required to enter your full name or at least what matches on your Facebook profile and the email address that is in your Facebook profile > click on send > you may be required to solve a human verification > If not then you should receive a confirmation in which they will say they will send you an email so be on the lookout for an email coming from Facebook. If not then you should receive a confirmation in which they will say they will send you an email so be on the lookout for an email coming from Facebook.
