Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock, as each tick-tock on the clock reaches closer and closer to Sunday, January 19, 2025 is when the band on TikTok is scheduled to go into effect. So what does this mean for TikTok users in United States?
We have to go back to the previous administration, not the Biden administration, but during the first term of the Trump administration, Trump said that TikTok was a threat to national security and that the social media app should be banned and but I don’t ever recall there ever being a specified deadline that if something does not happen before or on a specific date, the social media app would be banned but the just a thought of the social media app been looming created kind of like a frenzy where people decided to download TikTok onto their electronic devices in fear that they would be removed from Apple and Google but for those who had the app already installed? It would continue to work at least for the time being.
during the Biden administration, last year, President Biden signed into law, the banning of TikTok, and saying that TikTok must be sold to a company in the United States if they want to continue to operate within the borders of the United States. Time has ticked away to where we are today, the last official day of when TikTok operates normal or I should say the eve of TikTok’s death.
Here’s what I think it’s going to happen when the clock strikes midnight and it is officially Sunday, January 19, 2025 to TikTok.
I do have to say that there is some good news we all hope may not be fully lost yet, Trump, the former president to soon be reelected president has had a change in mind to possibly create a 90 day extension by delaying the ban to go into affect so see if TikTok is willing to budge and sell to a company in the United States.
