eBay, the world’s largest online auction and selling platform for new, used and even broken things is sold on eBay and oh yea most sells ship most items directly to their customers without any issues and the same would be for buyers as well.
When the pandemic was in full swing besides eBay, most less known sites similar to eBay decided to get into the business as well and some even decided to buy their competitor, but one thing I have noticed is not with the selling platform but the sellers mostly is eBay sellers are largely expected to ship, but is is not required to ship their merchandise to the customers whereas Facebook Marketplace and OfferUp, sellers don’t feel like they are expected to ship their merchandise to their customers even though the shipping is much cheaper compared to eBay.
Why the share contrast between eBay and the others Facebook Marketplace and OfferUp?
Unlike eBay they do not tie a seller or buyer to a more of a personal account like Facebook Marketplace does as to buy and sell you must have a Facebook account, OfferUp asks for buyers and sellers to get verified to demonstrate they can be a little more trustworthy unlike non-verified users, both platforms still have a rating system where both sellers and buyers are always encouraged but not required to leave feedback about how the overall experience was to help sellers and buyer do business with more confidence.
Most sellers on Facebook marketplace and also on OfferUp will respond to buyers questions relatively quickly, but it seems the second that you mentioned “shipping” it’s like if you said something that was so horrible that they don’t want to do business with you at all. A few times I’ve asked a couple sellers why are they not willing to ship considering the value of the merchandise that they’re selling is $20 +5 dollars in shipping that the buyer, me would be paying?
A couple sellers have said that they have been scammed, some say that it’s too fragile,
