You’re married to…?

/ March 20, 2026

When it comes to finding your longtime partner in tying the knot you and your partner is and should be making a lifetime commitment for better and worse.  This is of course for the traditional marriage, but what about when people decide to tie the knot not with other people but with their dog, cat, or even inanimate objects like a doll, table, chair, etc? Do the same rules apply? Is the marriage legally recognized? Can you get a divorce?

A few days ago I was talking to someone about how people identify themselves i.e. gay, transgender, male, female, etc., they said a few things, and I wanted to further read up on what we were discussing when I came across an article where some people identify themselves neither of the traditional identities but some that some may not recognize as it is hard form them to understand and acknowledge how people identify themselves besides male or female.

Every now and then I see someone say “I identify myself as cat”, but with the sarcasm in response to an article about LGBTQ+, some people truly identify themselves as animals, this is called “furries”.

From what I understand when someone identifies themselves as “furries”
