FreedomPOP and Unreal Mobile APN settings for mobile hotspot

Long time ago FreedomPOP and Unreal Mobile used to sell mobile hotspots, along with cell phones and SIM card however they now exclusively sell cell phones and SIM card if you are planning on to bring your own phone to use on their network.

BACKUP:

Like always before you make any changes you should always take a backup of your current settings in the event that you need to go back to the current settings prior to making any changes.

To back up, log onto your mobile hotspot by selecting your Wi-Fi’s network name and enter the password if you have one, then you will be redirected to the admin interface and you will need to enter your admin password.

After you have successfully logged in, click on settings > Software and Reset > then click on “Save”.

The profile:

Click on Settings > Mobile Broadband (Tab) > APN (Link), then enter the following depending if you are connecting to FreedomPOP or Unreal Mobile.

• FreedomPOP: For name, enter “FreedomPop”, APN enter “ERESELLER”, for username and password do not enter anything, just click on the plus icon.
• Unreal Mobile: For name, enter “UNREAL Mobile”, APN enter “ERESELLER”, for username and password do not enter anything, just click on the plus icon.

Now select the radio button to apply this and then press “Connect”, you should see the bars working and you should try to access a website like isup.me and enter a URL to see if you can connect or not connect. The reason why I mention using this website and entering a URL is not to check to see whether the website is online or not it is to see if you can connect to the Internet and if you are able to connect to the Internet it isn’t going to load a very complex page that will eat your data up.
